FUNCTIONS

Planning, conducting and ensuring UNICARIBE’s global strategy in accordance with the
2030 strategic plan. -
To lead the strategic projects of growth, positioning and institutional prestige of
UNICARIBE in support of the Rector and the Chancellor. -
Define and deploy academic policies and regulations to ensure that the best teachers
and researchers meet the criteria of selectivity and compliance with national and international
accreditations. -

To represent UNICARIBE institutionally before key organizations and strategic
partners. -
Design programs for expansion and impact of UNICARIBE at a global level.
Mechanical Electrical Engineer and Master in Control Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He also holds a Master of Science and a PhD from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG), France, in a joint program with the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He has more than 30 years of experience in academic leadership responsibilities at Tecnológico de Monterrey, having served as Director of Academic Programs, Director of the Research Center and Dean of Engineering for the Mexico City and Santa Fe campuses as well as General Director (Rector) of the Mexico City Campus. Under the responsibility of the Associate Dean of Research and Scientific Programs.
He managed all research groups in Engineering and Science and three National Research Centers: the Water Center, the Biotechnology Center and the Center for Innovation in Digital Technologies. He is an expert in the development and implementation of strategies to improve the positioning and international prestige of higher education institutions. He is recognized for his results and development of Academy-Industry Linkage Models, as well as Scientific Diplomacy and Strategic Relations. He has implemented successful programs for the development of research professors and teachers oriented to develop science and technology based entrepreneurship.
